A Study on the Role of Mental Lexicon in Teaching Movie English

The purpose of this study is twofold: firstly, to investigate whether memorization improved if the L1 mental lexicon (in case, Korean) dependent on L2 (English), or vice versa; secondly, observe and lexicons stay in same state they remain different modular conditions. To do this, a case was undertaken with four college students. Two participants (A B) had beginner level English two (C D) an intermediate English. movies were used for study. A similar procedure performed both levels. Recall tests 50 items administered results showed that A, B, C successful recall, but participant D unsuccessful. suggested reason depended whereas lexicon. It turns out primary use effective memorization. For second question, it proposed less proficient students have close integration lexicons, more separation lexicons.
